ACCOMMODATION

Oodles of space and a roaring fire: the luxurious living space at The Five Turrets

Every holiday home needs a roaring fire, and our super-efficient Burley stove will keep everyone toasty. Pour yourself a wee dram, snuggle up on a comfy sofa and watch those dancing flames.

Our newly-refurbished bedrooms are set up for the best possible night’s sleep, with solid wooden bed frames topped with award-winning Casper mattresses and draped in Egyptian cotton bedlinen.

Luxurious bathroom with rain shower, deep white bath and fluffy towels at The Five Turrets

One upstairs, one down, both modern and luxurious. Downstairs there’s a lovely walk-in Bristan rain shower. Upstairs another Bristan rain shower over a deep bath. Modern white fixtures and fittings, heated towel rails, fluffy towels.

A treat for budding Great British Bakers and future Master Chefs. Loads of space and top quality appliances, including Bosch fridge, freezer and dishwasher and the rather clever AEG steam oven. But don't worry if your tastes run more to a cup of coffee and a piece of toast - we're got that covered too. Just hop onto one of the breakfast bar stools and make yourself at home.

Top quality appliances and acres of space: the chef’s dream kitchen at The Five Turrets.
The 600-book library and TV viewing balcony room on the mezzanine of The Five Turrets, the historic holiday home at the heart of the Scottish Borders

Climb the oak and glass staircase, make yourself comfortable on one of the three big sofas and lose yourself in a book or a TV box set. Forgot to bring a book? Never fear. We've got hundreds to choose from.

Our chunky oak dining table is big enough for eight people to eat in comfort. We've placed it in front of the two huge windows to provide fantastic views out over the Ettrick valley. And at night, it's lit by dimmable theatre spotlights, for an extra bit of glamour.

An appetite for fine dining: seating for eight, an oak dining table and views out over the beautiful Ettrick Valley from The Five Turrets dining room.
The glamorous entrance hall at The Five Turrets, complete with chandelier and white piano

This is our entrance room and gallery, where we display some of the photographs and weaving that we produce. It's a good place to get out of those outdoor coats and boots. And there's a piano. Obviously.

THE BEST OF THE REST

It's the extra spaces that help to make the main rooms seem even more spacious, so we've got a boot room complete with Belfast sink, where you can clean dirty hiking gear or that 10lb salmon you finally landed. There's a good sized entrance lobby with coat hanging and a utility room equipped with separate washing machine and a dryer - both top quality Bosch appliances.

THE GARDEN

Take a stroll down the gently sloping path into the garden and you'll find seating for eight people and a simple orchard of apple, plum and flowering cherry trees. The bike storage is down here too - enough room for eight bikes in a padlocked shed, which also serves as a wood store.
